The Kittens

There were two men who lived in a certain town. One was good and the other evil. Both had many kittens.

The good man loved his cute, little, kittens. He would feed them, pat them, cuddle them and care for them. He delightfully spent many hours reading books and talking to others to determine how he could best care for his many kittens. All was well at the good man’s home. But alas, the town’s people despised him for his honorable actions.

Way across town, the evil man too had many kittens. But instead of caring and nurturing his kittens, he delighted in torturing them. Many different ways were invented to inflict cruelty on these young kittens. Some, he tortured by puncturing their skulls with sharp instruments before sucking out their brains. Others were twisted, pulled and dismembered by sharp instruments into tiny pieces. Still others were injected with poisons, resulting in a long, slow and painful death. Nothing was too evil for this man in his treatment of the kittens.

Strangely, the town’s people, rather than being horrified at the evil man’s actions, would encourage the man’s evil by bringing to his home, with much excitement, more kittens to torture. These too he would torture with new methods, involving severe and excruciating burns, starvation or drowning in potent chemical solutions.

What was to be done?
Why was evil being called good and good evil?
Who had bewitched the town’s people?
Who had blinded the eyes of the people so that only injustice was done?

If you are outraged at the thought that this story is based on fact, right here in Australia, then read on. As a nation we are united in our stance against cruelty to animals. It is a crime under our law.

But there is one arena in this nation where we tolerate such cruelty.

In the Australian abortion clinics.

The daily torture and subsequent killing of young, unborn human babies in this nation is by FAR a greater crime. But it is legal.

Legal forms of abortion in this country include the following:

  • Dilation and Evacuation Abortion: the child is dismembered and torn apart using sharp instruments.

  • Saline Abortion:  the child is burned in utero with a toxic saline solution. Death can take up to 24 hours.

  • Fatal Injection Abortion: the child is poisoned (eg potassium chloride) by injection into the unborn child’s heart.

  • Artificial Inducement of Premature Birth: the child is induced and born alive. It is then either starved, neglected or drowned in formaldehyde.

The 2008 Abortion Law Reform Act in Victoria abolished abortion from the Victorian Crimes Act and exempts abortionists from murder charges.

So let me be blunt.

If Australians tortured kittens or any other animal for that matter in this country, in the same way we are torturing the unborn, it would be a crime.

Yet somehow or other, we have managed to dull our consciences to the point that we do not consider, under law, the torture and killing of unborn human children to be a crime.

This is what Jesus, the Lord of all Creation says:

I created each child.

“For you [Jesus] created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Ps 139:13

“Your [Jesus] hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.”  Ps 119:73

“This is what the LORD says - your redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the LORD, the maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself.” Isaiah 44:24

“My frame was not hidden from you [Jesus] when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together.” Psalm 139:15

“You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.” Job 10:12

I own each child.

“The earth is the LORD’s and everything in it. The world and all it’s people belong to him.” Ps 24:1

I will not forget each child.

“Can a a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!” Isaiah 49:15

“Even if my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will hold me close.” Ps 27:10

I will hold you to account and judge you for each child.

“Do not murder.” Exodus 20:13

“For the same God who said ‘You must not commit adultery,’ also said, ‘you must not murder.’ So if you murder someone but do not commit adultery you have still broken God’s law.”
James 2:11

“But the Lord abides forever, he has established His throne for judgement, and He will judge the world in righteousness; he will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”
Ps 9:8

“Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.”
Ps 96:13

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness.”
Rom 1:18

“They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful, they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents, they have no understanding; no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”
Rom 1:29-32

Repent. Turn back to God.

“God overlooked people’s ignorance about such things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.” Acts 17:30

“If we confess our sins to God, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 Jn 1:9

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” 2 Chron 7:14

Receive forgiveness.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness and with the mouth he confesses resulting in salvation.” Rom 10:9

“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.” Rev 22:14

What will you do?

Will you repent?

Will you speak out?

 Don't leave it to others.
